Service Overview
During the procedure, a thin camera called a hysteroscope is gently inserted through the vagina and cervix into the uterus. Specialized instruments are then used to carefully remove the fibroid from the uterine cavity while preserving the surrounding healthy tissue.
Hysteroscopic resection does not require abdominal incisions and is generally associated with minimal tissue disruption, less postoperative discomfort, and a relatively short recovery period. The procedure may be performed as a day-care treatment depending on the size, number, and location of the fibroid.
A detailed evaluation, including appropriate imaging, helps determine the size and position of the fibroid and whether hysteroscopic removal is suitable. The treatment plan is also tailored according to symptoms, overall health, and reproductive goals.
Submucosal fibroid resection can help manage abnormal uterine bleeding and may be considered in selected patients with fertility-related concerns caused by fibroids affecting the uterine cavity. Regular follow-up after treatment helps monitor recovery and overall uterine health.
